Iraqi parl. delegation attends Halifax Int'l Security Forum in Canada

A senior delegation from the Iraqi parliament is attending the Halifax International Security Forum being held in Canada in order to discuss the fight against ISIS.


Iraq's parliament has sent the delegation, which is being led by Deputy Parliament Speaker Bashir Haddad, to the forum to update the world about the the fight against ISIS in Iraq's Kurdish region.


The Halifax International Security Forum is an international forum held every year in Halifx, Nova Scotia and is "dedicated to strengthening strategic cooperation among democracies and is recognized as the leading gathering of democratic leaders committed to global security and prosperity."


While the forum is limited to just 300 participants, more than 90 countries are represented, and Iraq hopes to gain international support for its fight against terrorism in the region.
