Iraq hands over 28 boxes of radio, TV archives to Kuwait

Kuwait announced receiving a great amount of previously apprehended radio and television archives from Iraq.

The archives, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry explained, were held in custody almost 28 years ago when the Iraqi military invasion to Kuwait occurred.

In a statement, the foreign minister announced: "the archives were delivered in compliance with the UN Security Council resolutions, the latest of which called Iraq to hand over these archives to Kuwait."

The ministry further confirmed the handing over of around 28 boxes of archived recordings, which are three tons of weight.

The ministry's Undersecretary Hazim al-Yusufi stated, "This comes in accordance with Iraq's commitment to the principles of good-neighborliness with the State of Kuwait as well as the implementation of the Security Council resolutions."
