Croatia to face off Spain in UEFA Nations League tonight

Croatia face off against Spain in the UEFA Nations League tonight.

They meet in League A Group 4 for a crucial clash with Spain looking to qualify for the Nations League finals while Croatia are trying to avoid relegation.

Croatia reached the final of the 2018 World Cup where they lost 4-2 against France, as reported by the Mirror. However, they have struggled in the Nations League.

The Croats were thrashed 6-0 by Spain when the sides last met in September before playing out a goalless draw behind closed doors with England.

Spain had a disastrous World Cup from the very start with manager Julen Lopetegui being sacked on the eve of the tournament.

His sacking came after he took the job as Real Madrid manager which did not go to plan as he has since been relieved of his duties at the Bernabeu.

Fernando Hierro took charge of the national team for the tournament, where they lost 4-3 on penalties against Russia, but former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is now Spain's manager after being appointed in July.

The Spaniards have fared better in the Nations League and currently sit top of the group. They were 2-1 winner against England in September before thrashing Croatia 6-0 three days later. Their only defeat of the group so far came in the reverse fixture against England when they lost 3-2 at home.
