Thanks to Nashidul Hamzafar, the use of deportation camps in Iran by Indian recruits to ISIS has been disclosed.
Hamzafar was the first
Indian to be returned from Afghanistan after Afghan forces intercepted him
before he could enter ISIS-controlled territory in Nangarhar, Times of India
After being deported to India in September, Hamzafar told NIA that he had traveled to Tehran on valid documents last year. He was able to reach a deportation camp in Isfahan, which is about six hours away from Tehran.
However, Hamzafar failed to prove his Afghan credentials to the authorities of the camp and was loaded onto a deportation vehicle for Pakistan.
