Sunni bloc will nominate Parliament Speaker within 10 days- MP
The Iraqi parliament will meet on Monday to discuss a number of issues, including the irregular customs offices recently set up between the Kurdistan Region and other disputed territories under the control of Baghdad

The Iraqi parliament will convene on Monday to discuss a number of issues, including the irregular customs offices recently set up between the Kurdistan Region and other disputed territories under the control of Baghdad.

Deputy parliament speaker Bashir Haddad affirmed to press that they are working to remove the offices which charge people transporting goods between the KRG and other provinces.

After October 2017, when the Iraqi government took over Kirkuk and other disputed Kurdish territories, the highway leading from the Kurdistan Region to Kirkuk was blocked, until earlier this year when it was finally reopened following intensive talks between Erbil and Baghdad.

However, people complain about Iraqi government’s customs offices set up between the areas that charge trucks carrying goods from the Kurdish provinces to other areas under the control of Baghdad.
