Kuwaiti Public works minister resigns over flood crisis

Expressing "utmost regret" over the damaged properties of citizens and residents due to heavy floods that hit the country, Kuwait Minister of Public Works Hossam al-Roumi announced his resignation on Friday.

“Out of my moral responsibility ... I have submitted my resignation to the President(Kuwaiti Emir),” Roumi said, according to state news agency KUNA.
Roumi said: “Everybody knows that I am serious about my job in the ministry of public works, and I was keen on putting maximum effort into developing the work, preserving the public money, fighting corruption, and working alongside my fellow ministers under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah, and abiding by the instructions of His Highness, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, and His Highness Nawaf al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, the Crown Prince, God bless them both.”
