Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah praised on Wednesday Iraqi Yazidi activist Nadia Murad and her role in highlighting war crimes, stressing that Iraq
is more stable than before.
Al-Sabah received Murad, recently the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, at the Amiri Palace on Wednesday and praised her efforts on drawing attention to war crimes and combat the phenomenon.
The Emir of Kuwait honored the Yazidi activist for the suffering she had endured, advising her to think about the future and adding that he hopes it will be better.
For her part, Murad praised the great role played by the Emir of Kuwait in the field of humanitarian work, stressing that the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq in February was a factor of joy and pride for all Iraqis.
The 25-year old Nadia Murad is an activist from the Yazidi religious minority in Iraq. She had been captured by ISIS in 2014 and was sold as sex slave. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in October.
