Former Deputy Prime
Minister Saleh al-Mutlaq revealed that Iran had threatened to assassinate him
after protests were held near the Fakkah oil field between the two countries.
In a TV interview, Mutlaq said that a leader in one of the political blocs told him that Iran would give him the choice between assassination and "political elimination," adding that there are eye-witnesses who can give their testimonies.
The second batch of the US sanctions on Iran since Donald Trump abandoned the nuclear deal with the country was put into effect on Monday, with the aim of forcing Iran to curb its nuclear, missile and terrorist activities.
