The US State Department said Thursday that the United States welcomes the outcome of the Istanbul summit on Syria and hopes it will help form a constitutional committee.
Deputy State Department spokesman Robert Palladino told reporters that the US welcomes and supports the outcome of the summit in Istanbul, particularly particularly with regard to the Turkey-Russia agreements on resolving the conflict in Idlib.
According to him, this meeting should help to some extent in the formation of the constitutional committee before the end of the year.
The summit on the Syrian settlement was held on October 27 in Istanbul with the participation of the presidents of Russia, Turkey, France and Germany. The parties discussed the situation in Idlib province, stressing the need to maintain the truce there and calling for a constitution by the end of the year.
