MP from the State of Law Coalition, Haitham al-Jubouri, asserted on Friday the insistence of his alliance on nominating candidates to take over some of the ministerial posts that are still vacant in the cabinet of Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi.

Al-Jubouri stated that the Coalition is undergoing discussions with the rest of the political blocs to ensure their vote on those names on the Parliament's Tuesday vote.

He called Abdel Mahdi to conduct an assessment of the performance of ministers in his cabinet during the next six months.

Abdul Mahdi, who was sworn in as prime minister alongside 14 ministers last week, failed to win the required parliamentary support for his full cabinet. Eight out of 22 ministries, including interior and defense, are still unnamed.
