Taylor Swift has continued her intervention into US politics, urging fans to vote against “fear-based extremism” in the upcoming US mid-term elections, NME reported. The star, who recently broke years of political silence to back the Democrats, has doubled down on her support for Tennessee Senate candidate Phil Bredesen. Posting on Instagram, she shared a photo of herself and mother Andrea posing alongside a banner that reiterated their support for Bredesen. “These two Tennessee women voted for the candidate who has proven himself to be reasonable and trustworthy,” the singer wrote. “We want leadership, not fear-based extremism. Early voting goes till Thursday and Election Day is November 6. Please don’t sit this one out.” Her latest show of support for Bredesen comes after she first endorsed him on Instagram earlier this month. The emotional post came just two years after she faced criticism for not speaking out against Donald Trump’s election in 2016.
