Abdul Mahdi appoints Abadi commander of IMIS

According to news received by NRT Arab Saturday, Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi has appointed former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi chairman of the Iranian Militias in Iraq in Syria (IMIS).

According to the reports, Abdul Mahdi also charged former Interior Minister Qassem al-Araji as head of the national security apparatus and assigned former Defense Minister Irfan al-Hayali as national security adviser.

The Administrative Court issued a document that included the suspension of the decision issued by former Prime Minister Abadi to exempt the national security adviser, the head of the Popular Propaganda Authority and the national security apparatus Faleh al-Fayyad from all his security posts.

On Thursday, Abdul Mahdi received his official duties as head of the new government and commander-in-chief of the army and the armed forces after a reception and handover from Abadi.
