The Iran-backed Hezbollah has been involved in the 7-year Syrian war since it began, Iran Focus reported.

The Hezbollah's role in the Syrian war drew criticism from numerous Lebanese politicians and many others who argue that Hezbollah is fighting against Syrian people, an act which is condemned by people and officials around the world.

The matter all depends on the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's destiny in the Syrian war. If he was defeated, certainly, Hezbollah will not receive weapon supply from its supporter, Iran.

Assad's government uses armed groups who mainly consists of Shiites and Alawites, trained and developed by Hezbollah and Iranian forces. It is believed that these forces are mainly used for patrolling and security.

Numerous commanders of Hezbollah has lost their lives during the Syrian war, a loss that is hard for Hezbollah to endure. The commanders include Mustafa Badreddine and Ali al-Ashiq. According to the US remarks, Hezbollah has been rensponsible for 7,000 fighters in Syria. It is believed that Hezbollah has lost about 2,000 fighters of them.

Muqtada al-Sadr, the Iraqi Shia cleric and the leader of Iraq's Islamist Sadrist Movement, is believed to be the only senior Shiite leader to call on Assad to step down in order to end the war. Sadr's point of view clearly opposes Hezbollah, who is backed by Iran and many Shiites.

Sadr followers and supporters reportedly object to Hezbollah in many issues. By such remarks, Sadr has blocked the road for Assad's government to reach Sadr, and convert him and subsequently his followers to supporters for Iran and Assad, against Syrian people.

Hassan Nasrallah, A Hezbollah leader, affirmed that nobody can oblige them to leave Syria, revealing Hezbollah's probable intention to establish itself in Syria. However, Hezbollah is still at risk, according to international observers, of being targeted by a major military operation carried out by the Israeli army.
