Political sources confirmed on Friday that Iraq's incoming Prime
Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi will present 15 of his cabinet choices next Wednesday, with the
exception of some ministries.
The sources said in a statement that "next Wednesday will be Adil Abdul Mahdi’s date for nominating a large part of the cabinet,” pointing out, however, that the security ministries will not be part of the initial lineup of the government cabinet, but will finalized later after the selection of professional personalities from within the respective ministries.
The sources added that those ministries will be decided after Abdul Mahdi’s announcement of the initial composition of the cabinet, noting that the curricula vitae of candidates for important and sensitive ministries are still being studied.
