MP Hanin al-Qadu of the Fatah Alliance confirmed that there
is a new mechanism related to the nomination of ministerial portfolios, adding
that perhaps the nominations will be based on the provinces.
Qadu pointed out that "each province will probably have a candidate for a specific ministry."
He added that "large provinces such as Baghdad may have three ministries, in addition to two ministries for Basra and similar for Nineveh," pointing out that "with this formula, the portfolios will be distributed among the provinces and responsibility for the failure or success will be with [incoming Prime Minister Adil] Abdul Mahdi and not the political blocs."
