Maalami announces KSA's rejection of Iranian intervention in Syria

Abdullah al-Maalami

Saudi Arabia’s UN envoy, Abdullah al-Maalami, affirmed his country's rejection of Iran's interference in Syrian affairs.

In a speech to the UN Security Council on Syria, Maalami said Saudi Arabia has worked with the UAE, Jordan and Egypt to strengthen the Arab role in resolving the Syrian crisis.

In a previous speech, Maalami stressed that the Iranian regime continues to support its terrorist militias and agents in the Middle East, such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen, in defiance of international resolutions.

He added that many Muslim countries have suffered from Iran's blatant hostile interference in their internal affairs, leading to instability in the region.
