Observers confirmed that Iranian
Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS) has added a political force to its military
power in order for its leaders to infiltrate the parliament and state institutions,
adding that this political influence makes incoming Prime Minister Adil Abdul
Mahdi’s task of disarmament more difficult.
An earlier American report had warned of the return of ISIS terrorists to Iraq in an unexpected way, as the sectarian IMIS has succeeded in attracting a number of former militants to join them, after the two sides had been fighting for years.
On Monday, US Special Envoy on Iran Brian Hook said that there is proof of Iran supplying the IMIS with ballistic missiles to be used in Iraq as part of the mullah regime’s efforts to spread insecurity and chaos in the region.
