A social media campaign demanding Iraq’s prime minister-designate Adil Abdul Mahdi to speed up the cabinet formation process was launched on online platforms.
The campaign, entitled ‘Get it over with!’, was launched by a group of activists who consider prolonging political negotiations regarding the ministerial positions to be a “disregard” for Iraqis’ sufferings.
The campaigners demanded Abdul Mahdi to speed up the formation of the government and begin to address the major problems facing the country.
Mahdi, announced on Friday that around 15,184 Iraqi citizens have submitted their resumes on a website he launched earlier for nominations to ministerial posts in the anticipated cabinet.
On Oct. 2, newly-elected Iraqi President Barham Salih nominated Abdul-Mahdi to form the country’s new government after consensus between parliamentary blocs.
