Magnitude 4.5 earthquake hits Kurdistan, no casualties reported


The Kurdistan’s Earthquake Data Center announced Wednesday that an earthquake, measuring 4.5 magnitude, hit the suburb of Kurdistan’s Sulaymaniyah city.

The quake took place around 06:16 (local time), according to an official statement by the center.

“The center of the shake was designated 18 kilometers from Khanaqin, and was felt in central Sulaymaniyah,” the statement said.

No casualties or major losses were reported so far.
