Khames al-Khanjar's National Axis Alliance revealed on Monday that it has the legitimate share of six ministerial posts in the new
government of incoming Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi.
Ali al-Sajri, a member of the National Axis, said in a press statement that the alliance almost guarantees being granted the defense ministry post, adding that it also aims to obtain the post of finance minister.
Observers said that the movements of the National Axis comes under the orders and directives of Qatar and Iran to impose control of certain ministries upon Abdul Mahdi.
A political source also revealed the existence of secret pressures by political blocs to pass their candidates to the new cabinet, pointing out that there is an agreement to keep Interior Minister Qasim al-Araji in office.
