Member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Majid Shinkali accused on Sunday “Shiite political blocs” of denying their promises to the newly-appointed Prime Minister, Adil Abdel Mahdi.

Shinkali stated that the State of Law Coalition, led by Nouri Al-Maliki and the Fatah bloc is led by Hadi, abandoned their promises to support Abdul Mahdi to form a government without pressure; They imposed their quotas that ensure their own interests.

KDP demanded Saturday to occupy the post of Deputy Prime Minister, as well as two ministerial portfolios; one of them is a sovereign ministry.

The leader of KDP bloc at the parliament, Vian Sabri stated that the KDP looks forward to a strong participation in the new federal government.

"The negotiations are going on between the party and the designated Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi on the formation of the next government,” she added.
