Iraqi President Barham Salih stated on Saturday that the Iraqi people are capable of facing challenges.
Salih made the remarks during a ceremony held to mark the 37th anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq.
“We want Iraq to be an important hub in the region,” Salih said.
Salih has earlier this month assigned Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Adil Abdel Mahdi with forming a new government.
He asserted that his priority as a president is to respect the constitution and drafting the necessary laws and legislation, especially the water resources law.
