Saudi interior minister slams ‘media lies’ on ‘orders to kill Khashoggi’

Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif
Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Abdulaziz stated on Saturday that the kingdom condemns and denounces false accusations circulated in some media outlets on the disappearance of Saudi national Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey.

He asserted in press remarks that what has been circulating about “orders to kill” Khashoggi are “lies and baseless allegations against the Saudi government, which is committed to its principles, rules and traditions in compliance with international laws and conventions,” Saudi Press Agency said.

The Saudi minister praised the ongoing cooperation with Turkish authorities through the Joint Investigation Commission and other official channels.

It was important that the media plays a role in relaying facts, without affecting the investigation and judicial proceedings, he pointed out.

He also affirmed the kingdom's keenness on the interests of its citizens at home and abroad.

Saudi Arabia is also keen to “clarify the whole truth about the disappearance of the citizen Jamal Khashoggi,” he said.
