Sources on Thursday revealed the smuggling of foreign
currency from Pakistan to Iran by people across the land border between the two
The sources added that a large number of Pakistanis have made frequent visits to Iran in the past four months across the land border, and they are smuggling foreign currency to Iran.
The Pakistani Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) came across about 100 names of people who have frequented Iran in the past four months through the Taftan border between the two countries.
The individuals were accused of smuggling foreign currency to Iran, and their files were transferred to the Pakistani Finance Ministry.
This comes in line with the sanctions imposed by the US administration on Iran, which prevent it from attaining US dollars. In recent months, the Iranian currency has deteriorated significantly and lost more than three times its value.
