Abadi and Abdul Mahdi

A political source revealed on Thursday the existence of joint cooperation between outgoing Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and incoming Prime Minister-designate regarding the formation of the next government and senior officials in the current government.

The source said in a press statement that Abdul Mahdi is moving to develop a road map to completely eliminate corruption, which has been prevalent in many state institutions, pointing out that he may prevent current senior officials accused of corruption from traveling outside Iraq.

Abdul Mahdi intends to form a competent court to hunt down corrupt officials and eliminate corruption in Iraq in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council.
