Masoud Barzani, head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party
(KDP), opened the 23rd edition of the Erbil International Book Fair,
which is being held from October 10 to 20.
The book fair comes with the participation of more than 300 publishing houses and international cultural institutions from almost 20 countries, with the presence of a large number of political and cultural figures. There will be over 750,000 books in various languages, including Arabic, Kurdish, Persian, French and English.
Ehab al-Qaissi, director of the Erbil International Book Fair, said in a press statement that this year’s edition of the book fair is based on quality rather than quantity. The publishing houses were chosen from 18 countries around the world to provide good content for readers.
