The Building Coalition strongly refuses assigning the posts
of foreign affairs minister or vice president to outgoing Prime Minister Haider
al-Abadi, according to sources.
The sources added that "Abadi failed to perform his duties during his premiership over the past four years," pointing out that "the Building Coalition refuses to give Abadi any ministry or office in the government of Abdul Mahdi."
"Prime Minister-designate Adil Abdul-Mahdi began his talks with the political blocs to form the next government and informed them of the need to provide independent and effective figures to lead the ministries in his new government," a senior official close to Abdul Mahdi told Alghad Press.
