Razzaq al-Issa announced that more than 130,000 Iraqi students have been
admitted into Iraqi universities for the 2018/2019 academic year.
During a conference on the announcement of the results of the central admissions, Issa stated that about 127,000 students were accepted in colleges and institutes within the central admission channel, 2,401 students within the channel of direct acceptance, 1,224 were accepted at the University of Technology and 133 students in the elite channel.
Issa noted that the number of students accepted among biology graduates reached 56,659 students, the number of graduates of the applied branch reached 28,844 students, and the number of graduates of the literature branch reached 41,661. He added that 4,828 students were admitted through the families of martyrs channel.
The number of students admitted within the central admission channel in the medical group reached 6,655 students compared to last year, Issa revealed, in which 5,042 students were accepted, adding that the number of students with a rate of 100% reached 1,158 students, while the number of students who received a rate between 95-100% reached 11,327 students, indicating that an increase in the capacity of the medical group colleges is required.
The minister of education added that the number of students admitted in technical universities reached 30,706.
Issa stressed that the Ministry of Education stands with all seriousness to help the students achieve their ambitions and aspirations according to the available resources.
