Iraq’s newly elected Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi discussed in a meeting with Turkey's Ambassador to Baghdad Fatih Yildiz the outstanding problems between Iraq and Turkey.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed means to strengthen cooperation between both sides through the upcoming period. They also tackled the outstanding issues between the two countries as well as the file of the reconstruction of Iraq, according to the Prime Minister statement.
Moreover, Yildiz congratulated Abdul Mahdi on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Iraq.
Earlier, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated his newly-inaugurated Iraqi counterpart Barham Salih over the phone
The two leaders expressed their determination to strengthen bilateral relations, according to a Turkish presidential source.
