Iraq’s newly appointed Prime Minister, Adil Abdul Mahdi received on Saturday a delegation of the World Bank at his office.
The two parties discussed the bank’s projects and future plans in Iraq, the prime minister office stated.
Moreover, the delegation congratulated Abdul Mahdi on his appointment as Iraq’s prime minister.
According to Iraq’s constitution, the Prime Minister has exactly 30 days to form the government since his appointment.
Abdul-Mahdi, once a member of the Shi’a party known as Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, has been an independent since last year, making him Iraq’s first independent prime minister in 15 years.
