Leader at Fatah Alliance, headed by Hadi al-Amiri, Amer al-Fayez affirmed that the party objects to the nomination of former prime minister Haidar al-Abadi to any ministerial portfolio at the new government.

The alliance’s reservation is against appointing any official that proved his failure in the past, while Abadi was seen by many politicians as a failed prime minister, according to Fayez.

The newly-appointed Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi is tasked to form a new government within the next 30 days, according to the Iraqi constitution.
