France’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday accused Russia of
orchestrating a series of cyber attacks, which it condemned as "serious
and disturbing."
"France expresses its full solidarity with its allies and international organizations targeted by such attacks," it added.
Britain and Australia have accused Russia's intelligence services of launching some of the biggest cyber attacks in recent years, including an attack on the US National Democratic Party Committee during the US presidential election in 2016.
They have confirmed that Russian intelligence services can only launch such attacks on orders from the Kremlin.
On Thursday, the Netherlands announced that it had expelled four Russian agents after foiling an attempt to hack the headquarters of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the Hague.
The US judiciary said Thursday it had charged seven members of the Russian intelligence services with cyber attacks attributed to the Kremlin, which was also denounced by the Netherlands, Britain, Canada and Australia.
