Iraq strongly condemned an attack Thursday by the PKK terror group in Turkey’s Batman province.
In a Friday statement, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Mahjoub said Iraq is against terror and violence for whatever reason.
According to a report from the Turkish Ministry of Defense, the soldiers were traveling through the town of Gercus in the Batman Province, when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb.
The attack killed eight Turkish soldiers and injured one after terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device as an armored military vehicle passed by.
The PKK has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.
