An Iraqi security source asserted on Monday that Iran is coordinating with Iraq in bombing sites in Syria belonging to “terrorist” groups, Russia Today reported.
“The coordination was through the security coordination center, which also includes Syria and Russia in addition to Iraq and Iran,” the source told RT, indicating “if there was no coordination to come out a counter position by the Iraqi government towards this strike that passed through the Iraqi airspace.”
Iran fired six Qiam missiles from Kermanshah province over Iraq into Syria east of the Euphrates near Al Boukamal on Monday.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released a statement on the strikes saying they were retaliation for the attack on its military parade in Ahvaz.
Kermanshah is a Kurdish province in Iran on the border with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
