Iraqi soldier injured in IED blast in northeastern Diyala

An improvised explosive device (IED) went off on Monday near the Cobra Camp in Sadiya district in Diyala, leaving one Iraqi soldier injured, said an Iraqi security official who requested to remain anonymous.

The IED was planted on a roadside near the camp in northeastern Diyala, added the official in a statement.

A security force cordoned off the blast site, and the injured soldier was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Diyala witnesses recurrent blasts using IEDs and body-belt bombs and leading to injuries and deaths.
