Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and Vice President Ayad Allawi met on Sunday to discuss the necessity of adhering to Iraq's constitutional timeline of government formation and the significance of Cabinet’s program.
Haider's media office said in a statement that the two sides stressed that the next government has to represent the aspirations of the citizens and maintain the former achievement.
"The formed government shall proceed with the reconstruction of the country and provide job opportunities," the statement said.
Moreover, Abadi met with Fuad Hussein, the KDP’s presidential candidate, to discuss the anticipated presidential election and the formation of the next government.
The statement added, "The two parties discussed the political situation in the country, the electoral process, formation of the next government, and the importance of meeting the needs of the country.
