Kuwaiti Emir Sabah al-Ahmad affirmed his country's support to the unity and stability of Iraq, rejecting any intervention in Iraq's domestic affairs.
During his meeting with Mohamed al-Halbousi, Iraq's Parliament Speaker, the Kuwaiti Emir explained that Iraq's stability will positively impact the stability of the whole region.
From his side, Halbousi praised the role of the Kuwaiti leadership and people in supporting Iraq, which embodies in Kuwait's patronage to the international conference to reconstruct Iraq.
In February, donors and investors met in Kuwait to discuss ways to reconstruct Iraq’s infrastructure and to revive its economy, after the bitter battle it went through against ISIS.
During the meeting, Iraq received pledges of $30 billion from allies. However, this did not cover the $88 billion Baghdad says it needs to recover from three-year war against ISIS.
