An Egyptian Court upheld Monday former severe rulings against
135 defendants in the case known by media as "Kerdasa Massacre,"
including sentencing around 20 defendants to death.
According to reports, 80 people were sentenced to life imprisonments, while 35 defendants were given sentences between 10 to 15 years in prison. The rulings now are considered to be final.
Turmoil and clashes between Muslim Brotherhood supporters and the police forces took place in 2013, following the ousting of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated former President Mohamed Morsi.
