A Kurdish delegation headed by Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani will meet with the head of the Iraqi Sadrist Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, in his office in Najaf, an informed source told Baghdad Post on Sunday.
The source added that the two parties will discuss the latest political developments and the formation of the Iraqi government.
Nechirvan Barzani, prime minister of the Kurdistan Region, arrived on Saturday in Baghdad to meet with Haider al-Abadi, the incumbent prime minister of Iraq, Shiite cleric Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Hikma Front, and Nouri al-Maliki, former Iraqi prime minister and head of State of Law.
Barzani, who is deputy president of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), discussed with Hakim the latest updates in Iraqi government formation.
During his meeting with Maliki, he discussed the future of the political process and ongoing dialogues between the national forces to form the next government.
