Iran foiled forming largest coalition in parlt’s 1st session - politician
Former Sadrist leader Baha al-Araji revealed that Iran foiled the forming of a coalition led by Haidar al-Abadi and Muqtada al-Sadr during the first session of the parliament that was held on September 3.

In statements, Araji added that Iran started in the early hours of September 3 to work towards thwarting the announcement of forming a new Iraqi political coalition.

This came after the Kurdish member of parliament decided to join the Abadi-Sadr coalition, Araji added.

He pointed out disputes between Shia religious leaders after a number of religious leaders announced they will not support Abadi being re-elected as Iraq’s prime minister.

A new government in Iraq is expected to be formed following the parliamentary elections held four months ago.
