Unidentified gunmen carried out an armed attack in Mosul province, leaving five people of one family killed, a security source told The Baghdad Post on Thursday.

The gunmen then fled toward unknown destination, the source, who preferred anonymity, added.
“Security troops cordoned off the region in search for the perpetrators,” according to the source.
A total of 79 Iraqi civilians were killed and another 99 injured in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in Iraq in July 2018, according to casualty figures recorded by the United Nations Assistance Mission forIraq (UNAMI).
