MP of State of Law Coalition Alya Nassif said on Wednesday that the government must prevent foreign interventions and expel any ambassador or diplomatic envoy who intervenes in the Iraqi affairs.
In a statement, Nassif stressed the need for the Foreign Ministry and intelligence service to carry out their duties to maintain the sovereignty of Iraq and respect the will of its people.
She underlined that any diplomat who intervenes in the internal affairs of Iraq violates the diplomatic norms and international conventions, as well as the strategic agreement between Iraq and the U.S. that ban foreign intervention in the Iraqi affairs.
