Volume of trade exchange with Turkey to rise to $15 billion – spokesman

Spokesman for Cabinet's Media Office Saad Al Hedethy said Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, accompanied by a delegation during his visit to Turkey, has agreed with the Turkish side to increase the volume of trade exchange between both countries to reach $15 billion.

 

In press statements, Hedethy explained that there are common interests between Iraq and its neighboring countries, such as the trade and economic cooperation.

 

He underlined that Abadi and his accompanying delegation held talks with the Turkish side on the border issue between the two countries, the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and increasing the volume of economic exchange between the two sides.

 

In addition, he underscored that Turkey now understands and agrees with Iraq's political views after years of dispute between the two countries, stressing the importance of coordination between both sides on regional and international issues.
