Samarra Operations' Commander Major General Emad al-Zuhairi announced on Wednesday that two suicide bombers were killed and another one was injured, in addition to seizing 15 hand-grenades in eastern Samarra.
In a press statement, of which The Baghdad Post obtained a copy, al-Zuhairi said that Samarra Operations Command
managed to foil a terrorist attack plotted by ISIS militants at al-Mu'tasim district
in eastern Samarra.
Al-Zuhairi added that the force have managed to kill two
suicide bombers and cause injuries to another one.
They also
seized two Kalashnikov rifles, an explosive belt and 15 hand grenades
The
operation comes in directives by the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces to
continue pursuing and eliminating Islamic State remnants throughout the
country,” the statement read.
