KDP announces 8 conditions to Baghdad gov't to return to Kirkuk
Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has rejected calls for delaying the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in the Kurdistan region, calling on opposition parties to respect its September deadline.
Lawmaker with the KDP Delshad Shaban said in a statement the party has rejected a number of proposals brought forward by opposition parties to delay holding the elections.
"The KDP rejects delaying the elections at any rate," he noted.,
He also noted the cabinet set the end of next September as the date for holding the elections in Kurdistan, adding all parties should work to respect the deadline.
