Iraqi PM Abadi holds talks with Turkey's Erdogan

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has arrived on Tuesday in Ankara to discuss bilateral relations with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Rudaw reported.

According to a statement from Abadi’s office, the Iraqi premier is expected to discuss a range of topics including the water crisis, healthcare, trade, and security issues.

Abadi arrives as Ankara grapples with a currency crisis, made worse by new US sanctions. 

The Iraqi PM was also due to visit Iran this week, but Tehran cancelled the trip on Sunday amid a diplomatic spat over US sanctions.
