Iraq federal court rejects corrupt ministers election results ratification

Iraq's federal court has yet to ratify the results of manual recounts from the May elections for two officials charged with corruption allegations, sources revealed to the Baghdad Post Friday.

Former Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mohamed Deraggy and Mohamed Tamim, former Minister of Education were among other officials referred by PM Haider Abadi to the integrity authority over corruption allegations.

They were allegedly involved in corruption charges related to the construction of schools against the law.

However, the sources said the results could be ratified if both officials were granted a presidential pardon.
