Spokesman for Security Media Center Yahya Rasool said on Tuesday that Iraqi police were engaged in violent clashes with terrorists, leaving three terrorists dead and two others wounded in Kirkuk province.
In a press release, Rasool pointed out that the police's bomb squad defused 20 improvised explosive devices (IED) and seized other explosive materials during inspection operation in the village of Kodeylla.
Rasool underlined that the police also detained a suspect who had a pistol in his possession and found a guesthouse belonging to terrorists, as well as seizing four Kalashnikov rifles.
Iraqi cities are bearing the brunt of ISIS terror. Explosions, suicide bombings and assassinations are a commonplace. Many civilians and police and army personnel die in the aftermath of this violence.
