Movement (Change) reiterated on Sunday its rejection of any proposals to
postpone the Kurdistan Region's parliamentary elections, stressing that it will be
held as scheduled.
For his part, Shorsh Haji, Gorran Movement executive committee member said that the postponement of the parliamentary elections in Kurdistan is against the democratic process, so the movement stands against any calls to postpone the elections.
On the existence of different views within Gorran Movement, as some members support holding the elections as scheduled while some others call for postponing it, Shorsh said that we never supported postponing the elections.
added that the movement decided in its recent meeting to call for holding the
parliamentary elections as scheduled.
Some Kurdish political parties have called for the postponement of Kurdistan Region's parliamentary elections in order to be held in conjunction with the provincial elections scheduled in December.
