The spokesman of Sulaimaniya Police Department Captain, Sirkut Ahmed, uncovered that unknown armed terrorists attacked the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP)'s headquarters, on Wednesday evening, leaving no causalities.
to The Baghdad Post, Sirkut said that unidentified gunmen opened fires from
inside a car against the KDP's headquarters located in Sulaimaniya province.
The source said that security forces sealed off the site of the attack. A probe was launched, it added.
Violence in the country has surged further with the emergence of ISIS extremist militants who proclaimed an “Islamic Caliphate” in Iraq and Syria in 2014.
Bombings and armed attacks are seen on on almost a daily basis against security members, paramilitary groups and civilians since the Iraqi government launched a wide-scale campaign to retake ISIS-occupied areas in 2016.
